Island Hospice board members gather for annual meeting and luncheon

Heroes and ambassadors were on the guest list as the Palm Beach Island Hospice Foundation hosted its annual meeting and spring luncheon.

The event took place April 16 at Club Colette.

Business came first as t's were crossed, i's were dotted and Mark W. Cook, chairman of the Palm Beach Island Hospice Foundation Membership, expressed his appreciation to the board for their unwavering support, generosity, and invaluable guidance, all of which have played a crucial role in the foundation's ongoing success.

Cook also told guests that the proceeds from Hospice Evening 2025 are funding general hospice services and physician fellowships.

The afternoon continued with luncheon, highlighted by the presentation of the organization's two highest recognitions.

Audrey Gruss, a longtime supporter and board member of the foundation, received the 2025 Hospice Hero Award, reflecting her unwavering commitment to compassion and care.

Beau and Jackie Breckenridge, who served as chairman and chairwoman of this year's dinner dance, received the 2025 Hospice Ambassador Award for their exceptional leadership and dedication to the organization.

The afternoon closed with the announcement that Hospice Evening 2026 will take place Feb. 5 at The Breakers.

The Palm Beach Island Hospice Foundation continues to be committed to supporting hospice services in Palm Beach County. Through fundraising efforts and the dedicated work of their independent volunteer group, the foundation is able to provide resources for programs that support end-of-life care for patients and their families.
