Move over, frilly hats and tiny biscuits – tea time is about to get a little more wild!

On Jan. 22, philanthropist Lois Pope brings Hollywood’s famous animal stars to afternoon tea in Palm Beach. Famous faces such as Crystal the capuchin who featured in Night at the Museum and The Hangover Part 2 and Hudson, the adorable Golden Retriever who sat alongside one of my favorite actors, Paul Rudd, in Our Idiot Brother.

This exclusive event, taking place at the Chesterfield Hotel’s Leopard Lounge, deserves a round of a-paws. Each $150 afternoon tea ticket includes a photo (and maybe a kiss) with these hairy Hollywood heartthrobs as well as a signed copy of Animal Stars: Behind the Scenes with Your Favorite Animal Actors, written by Dr. Ganzert, president and CEO of the American Humane Association, and Allen and Linda Anderson, founders of Angel Animals Network. This book offers insight into the dynamic world of animals and their trainers in today’s film and entertainment industry.

“This special tea is a wonderful opportunity for fans of animal actors to come out and meet some of the brightest stars in the animal kingdom,” Ganzert said. “Crystal and Hudson are such superstars and are sure to light up the room and delight everyone in attendance. I know everyone who meets them ‘in person’ will enjoy reading more about them, as well as other dedicated animal actors and the trainers who protect them. My deepest thanks and gratitude goes out to Mrs. Lois Pope for her gracious sponsorship of this event.”

Ganzert said this event would not be possible without the kind support from Mrs. Pope; her generous nature has made it easier to help those in need in Palm Beach County.

“I am honored to host this special Afternoon Tea with America’s favorite animal stars,” said Pope, founder and president of LIFE and the Lois Pope LIFE Foundation, Inc. “All of the proceeds will benefit American Humane Association and their lifesaving work to protect America’s children and animals.”
