Boston hospital showcases innovations

Boston’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center showcased innovations in the treatment of cancer, digestive diseases and neurological disorders Feb. 11 at its annual Palm Beach event.
The program at The Breakers was co-chaired by Sunny and Sam Gustin. Sunny Gustin is a member of the medical center’s board of trustees. The event was hosted by longtime WBZ-TV anchor Jack Williams.
Featured speakers included: Dr. David Avigan, chief of the Hematological Malignancies and Bone Marrow Transplantation in the Cancer Center; Dr. Ram Chuttani, director of Interventional Gastroenterology and Endoscopy in the Digestive Disease Center; Dr. Tejas Mehta, chief of Breast Imaging in the Department of Radiology and co-director of the BreastCare Center; and Dr. Seward Rutkove, chief of the Division of Neuromuscular Disease in the Department of Neurology.
Center President and CEO Dr. Kevin Tabb provided an update on the medical center’s recent activities and accomplishments.
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is affiliated with the Harvard Medical School.
